About Me

Anne Cassens, MS, RN, IBCLC

I’ve been a registered nurse for over 35 years and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2009. I love teaching and taught registered nursing students for 25 years prior to making lactation support my sole focus.

Common Breastfeeding Issues Addressed

I can help with all things related to lactation, including:

  • Breastfeeding questions
  • Painful latching
  • Slow weight gain
  • Low milk supply
  • Tongue/lip tie assessment/referral
  • Engorgement issues
  • Pumping and flange size assessment
  • Hand expression tips
  • Different feeding techniques that protect breastfeeding
  • Breastfeeding without birthing (AKA adoptive breastfeeding)

My Personal Connection to Breastfeeding

I’m the mother of two grown children and grandmother of three. One of my kids was a NICU baby and another was my “mother earth birth” baby. I experienced breastfeeding challenges with both children and appreciate what new parents go through to figure out what works best. My approach is quiet and gentle when it comes to helping you figure out what works best for you and your baby. I take both of your personalities and preferences into consideration to help you reach your breastfeeding goals.
